Safety

Our award-winning Brook team includes more than 300 skilled craftsmen, dedicated labourers and strategic managers available to provide service anywhere in Ontario from its offices in Toronto and Ottawa. And not a single one of them is allowed on a job site anywhere unless they have passed a minimum of six courses through Brook's own industry-certified training school. Brooks dedicated training facility with a classroom that can take 30+ students at a time, and a warehouse in which participants train on the actual equipment they will use in the field.

All workers are certified and trained in daily site safety procedures and fall-arrest procedures. Site foremen hold daily safety talks, speaking on various topics that are site-specific. Brook has an exceptional past safety record, and continues to be at the top of the industry when it comes to daily safety operations. Our health & safety policy is updated on a yearly basis. Monthly safety committee meetings are held at Brook's offices to incorporate any topics worthy of discussion or changes.

First aid training

Further to our Training school, we also provide First Aid/CPR courses to all of our Supervisor\Foreman and lead hands. This ensures that a certified First Aid Responder is always available to act quickly and responsibly for the needs of the work force at every work location. This flexibility makes it easy for Brook Restoration Ltd. to respond quickly when required and ensure that there are an adequate number of qualified First Aid Responders on each project site.

Joint health & safety

Brook Restoration Ltd. believes that through the joint efforts of workers and management, health and safety issues can be resolved in a coherent manor. The Joint Health and Safety Committee and Worker Representative is an essential part of this process. This Committee meets on a regular basis and is another key element in assisting the Management of Brook Restoration Ltd. in the development of their Policies and Procedures. As a mechanism for workers to discuss their Health and Safety concerns and considerations, the Joint Health and Safety Committee, the Worker Representative and the role of our Health and safety Manager within this context, help to shape the position of Brook Restoration Ltd. as a health and safety leader in the construction industry.

Reporting

Although the goal of Brook Restoration Ltd. is to ensure that incidents involving the Health and Safety of workers do not occur, should incidents occur, our Health and Safety Manager is called upon to perform a thorough investigation of the circumstances and events leading up to the incident. Every incident or near miss is studied by our Highly Qualified Health and Safety Professional to determine how the incident can be prevented from recurring. This provides an excellent opportunity to improve our Policies and Procedures and is an effective tool in developing a successful due diligence program.
