National Defence Medical Centre (NDMC) - Ceremonial Ramp Replacement & Tunnel Expansion Joint Replacement

  2. Location: NDMC, 1745 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, ON

  3. Description of Work:

    1. At the rear of the facility in one of the main loading areas the 'ceremonial ramp' is being replaced with a new upgraded system. Scope includes demolition of the existing suspended driveway and existing foundation followed by replacement with a new abutment wall and a structurally reinforced concrete bridge. Additional Scope includes masonry repairs, door replacements, waterproofing, and hardscapes. 

    2. The loading area building is connected to the main facility by a partially underground tunnel. We are replacing the expansion joints in 5x separate locations (interior and exterior) for moisture protection purposes and general maintenance. Excavation, waterproofing, and landscaping is required to access certain locations and ensure continuous replacement. Additional scope includes masonry repairs, window refurbishment, walkway upgrades, caulking replacement and re-grading around the upper portions of the tunnel.
